The Suns came up with their worst game of the playoffs last night in Dallas with paul and Booker combining for an uncharacteristic 12 turnovers. My playoff picks are still good at 14-10, but I’m looking to rebound tonight with a big UFC card to go along with my daily NBA Pick.
NBA Playoffs: Warriors (-7) Vs Grizzlies $
The 2022 NBA Playoffs just got kicked up another level after game 2 of this series in Memphis.
The biggest news of course was the suspension of Dillon Brooks for the flagrant foul and dirty play on Gary Payton effectively ending his season. I expect the Warriors to come out of the gates in a sour and nasty mood after taking that loss and losing their best defender in Payton. He will be missed but the warriors do have good bench depth to cover his loss. Dillon Brooks will always be missed and rookie Zaire Williams will see more action tonight. Williams is a solid defender in his own right, but he is still a rookie and the Warriors will try to exploit him.
A couple of other things are not likely to happen in game 3 that did in game 2. Firstly, Ja Morant is not going to score 47 points every night despite his enormous talent. Secondly, the Warriors shot just 7-38 (18.4%) from three points in that game. That is roughly 20 points below their season’s expectation from behind the arc. If they have just an average shooting game, they win game 2 easily. I expect them to be well above average tonight as Golden State looks to send a message to Memphis tonight that the stakes are now going up.
I was not happy about laying 7 points against a very good Grizzlies team. But we are now heading into championship tier games and I have my money on the team with championship experience who now have an axe to grind over their opponents.
