NBA Best Bet – March 29, 2022

Best Bet

I got a best bet push last night with the Hornets losing 113 – 109 to Denver. If you had Charlotte hopefully, you got the full four points and didn’t lose by the hook. This shows the importance of getting the early line and having multiple betting outlets. My best bets remain 24-12 on the season.

Best Bet: Mavericks (-12) Vs Lakers $$

LeBron James is listed as doubtful for tonight’s game after rolling his ankle on Sunday against the Pelicans. James finished that game out with 39/9/5 in 42 minutes, but the Lakers still lost. He appeared in considerable pain during the post-game interview and expressed serious concern about his short-term availability. LeBron has been listed as questionable for much of the season, yet usually seems to find his way into the starting lineup. This time looks different and I suspect his regular season may even be done with less than two weeks remaining.

With Anthony Davis also likely done for the season, where does that leave the Lakers? I currently have them ranked 29th in my NBA power rankings, only ahead of the depleted Trailblazers. That is a massive adjustment for this team as they literally approach the basement of NBA talent. The only hope this team has to win on a given night is for James to go for 40+ points. Without James in the lineup, I have no faith they can even be competitive.

The Mavericks, in contrast, are playing their best ball of the season and look like serious contenders to reach the western conference finals. This is a big point spread, but given the Laker’s propensity to give up 20+ runs, I don’t think the spread will matter tonight.
