The Grizzlies came through for me again last night with a 127-102 victory over the Bucks. Giannis even played but it still didn’t matter as Memphis was just the better team even without Ja Morant. My NBA Best Bets are now 23-12 (65.7%) for the season.
Best Bet: Pelicans (-3.5) Vs Lakers $$
Pelicans dropped a critical game to the Spurs last night, 107-103. As a result, NO dropped a half-game behind the opponents for tonight into the 10th spot and now sit just one game ahead of the Spurs for the final play-in spot.
Brandon Ingram could make his return to the lineup tonight after missing 10 games with a hamstring injury. The Pelicans managed 4 wins in those 10 games but his presence was sorely missed. He could have been the difference in last night’s but he was still unable to play.
Lebron James missed the Lakers’ last game against the Sixers and is considered a game-time decision tonight. Without LeBron (and AD) in the line-up, the Lakers are one of the worst teams in the NBA. Even if he does play, I still have them ranked below the Pelicans in my power ratings. In their only previous matchup this season, the Pelicans rolled the Lakers in LA 123-95. It was an embarrassing loss for Lakers, one I am sure they would like to avenge. But I fear it will just be more of the same tonight.
The Lakers do not match up well against the Pelicans even with James in the line-up and should get this win to move past LA in the standings.
