TNF: Redskins (-3.5) Vs Giants $
Both of these teams lost in Week 1 and neither were very impressive. I was already down of the Giants prior to the season, but they were even worse than I expected on Sunday, losing 27-13 to the Broncos at home.
The Redskins got torched by Justin Hebert last week who was nearly perfect on third downs. They did got one interception but really I am almost willing to give the defence a bit of a pass on this game just because Herbert was so good. The offence however, is another story. Taylor Heinicke was asked only to manage this game and that is all he did. His numbers were good on just 15 pass attempts, but really he did not stretch the field at all taking no shots down the field. They did manage 126 rushing yards, which is actually good considering their lack of deep threat.
The Redskins are going to struggle scoring points this year against good teams, in particular they will have difficulty keeping up with the Cowboys. The Giants however, are a different story. They should be able to score enough in this game to get the win. I like this Redskin defence (at least for now) despite their loss to the Chargers.
The Giant’s offensive line is in serious trouble as they managed only 60 rushing yards on 20 attempts last week. That kind of rushing attack sets them up for a long difficult season. I like the Redskin’s linebackers to get home in this matchup and the Giants to score 13 or fewer points again in week 2.
I like taking home teams on TNF as the added pressure and crowd atmosphere gives an even bigger advantage to the home team. It is even more important in these close divisional games while non division games with big spreads it is not as prevalent.
This line opened at (-3) but quickly went 4 or even 5 in places. Their are still places offering (-3.5) and if you can find that, I think you should get on it as it is sure to be higher by kickoff.
I refuse to got the Redskins the “Football Team”, so if you find that name offensive, you should find a different blog to read.
