NHL: Avalanche (-176) Vs Lightning $
There should be no surprise who I will be picking in tonight’s hockey game. The Avalanche are now 15-3 this post-season and are in another tier compared to every other team in the NHL right now. I have personally cashed 12 tickets on Colorado since these playoffs began.
This game is set to be especially sweet for me because I have been a fan of the Avalanche since they were the Nordiques. As a young boy playing hockey myself, it was Joe Sakic whom I idealized. The Avalanche have not hoisted the Stanely Cup since 2001 when Joe Sakic and Ray Bourque completed the task together. I will be watching this game with my usual bet on the game, but more importantly as a fan of the team.
This pick may be tainted a little by the boy in me, but still, I think it is the right play here. I did not like the way the Lightning coaching staff made excuses for their game 4 loss blaming the referees for the missed too many men call. The call was correct in my opinion and the team should have been more concerned with the slow-footed defensive play that allowed Kadri to get off the game-winning shot.
The Avalanche have been playing downhill this entire postseason and I expect them to capture their third NHL Stanely Cup in team history tonight.
