NFL: Jaguars / Bengals Under (45.5) $

The growing pains in Jacksonville continue as Trevor Lawrence leads the NFL with 7 interceptions (tied with Zach Wilson). He threw a pick-6 on Sunday off a flee flicker which I don’t ever remember seeing before. That is just another example of the young QB trying too hard to win the game by himself. I expect the Jaguar coaching staff to once again reinforce the philosophy of ball security this week and employ a more conservation game plan.

I do not expect the Jags to score more than 17 points in this matchup. The Bengals have average to good defence and they should be able to limit the bad Jags offence to that number or less. That allows 28.5 points for the Bengals offence to score and I like under that number.

The Bengals offence has a lot of potential, but in no way would I rate them as an elite squad. If they do mange to get up by a score or two, I would expect them slow the game down and try running out the clock. I don’t see them to put up 4 or 5 TDs.

The (-7.5) line for the Bengals seems pretty close to correct so I’ll take the under in this matchup.
