NFL: Saints (-4) @ Seahawks $
Gino Smith and the Seahawks got the cover last week in PIT but I’m still not impressed with this team. Seattle still has the worst defence in the NFL this season and holding the terrible Steelers to 23 points does not change that fact. Seahawks come back home this week to face a Saints team that is much better on both sides of the ball than PIT.
Seahawks leaned more heavily on a more traditional running game last week with Russ Wilson out of the lineup with some success. But the Saints defence is number one in the NFL in rushing defence so they are going to have problems moving the ball in this matchup. Gino Smith is capable of making some plays, but if you are expecting him to move the ball without the benefit of an effective running attack, you are likely to be disappointed. I foresee a multiple turnover game for the Saints defence while holding the Seahawks under 100 yards rushing.
That is a bad combination for any team in the NFL. Jameis Winston shouldn’t have to stretch too much in this matchup and a conservative game plan executed without turnovers should be more than enough to win this game.
I don’t usually like going against the home team on MNF, but in this case I think it is justified.
