NFL: Cowboys (-3.5) Vs Eagles $$
I love betting home teams on MNF and I like the Cowboys even more so in this matchup. My spreadsheet numbers actually rate the Eagles as four points better than the Cowboys, but I can assure you they are not a better team than the Cowboys.
The Eagles took advantage of a very favourable matchup against a bad Falcons team in week 1. Jalen Hurts went off in the first game going 27/35 for 264 yards, 3 TDs, and 62 yards rushing. His next game against the 49ers did not go nearly as well. SF managed to shut down the Eagles QB in week 2 making their offence look bad. This leads me to the simple conclusion that if you are able to shut down Hurts, the Eagles are not a dangerous team.
Hurts essentially represents the focal point of the Eagles running attack. Very few NFL quarterbacks can manage such a burden successfully and I am frankly not ready to anoint Jalen Hurts as the third coming of Lamar Jackson or Micheal Vick. Any NFL defensive coordinator worth his money should be able to scheme a game plan to eliminate a running attack of a QB with a below average arm and essentially no running game.
Dak Prescott has played fairly well so far this season in two tough road games in TB and SD. I expect a big game from him in the season home debut and for the Cowboys to put up 31+ points against the Eagles.
The Cowboys at home on MNF should usually be a good wager on its own, but I like this selection even more having to lay only (-3.5) and not 7 to 10 points were this line should truly be. I will make it my second double play of the week having won my first on the Rams.
I had a great NFL week thus far going 6-2. It is half time of the SNF game and I also have the trailing 49ers, so I’ll call it 6-3 and 14-11 or 56% for the season so far. Make sure you check back here regularly on my Daily Picks page for all your NFL/NCAAF & CFL picks all for free.
