NCAAF: Oklahoma St. Cowboys (-4) Vs Oklahoma Sooners $$$$
I have literally been waiting for this game for months as I knew it would be a premium play at mid season. This may actually be my highest rated NCAAF game of 2021. The line for this game is badly off as there should be absolutely no doubt of whom is the superior team.
Oklahoma St has been at or near the top of my power ratings the entire season. The Cowboy’s defensive stats are a close second only behind Georgia in all of NCAAF and miles ahead of any other team in the Big 12. Oh but wait, there’s more. The Cowboy’s offensive stats are also the best in the Big 12 and likely top 10 in NCAAF. That is a deadly combination of talent that gives this team the chance of winning every week even against top rated competition.
They did suffer a close defeat at the hands of a quality Iowa St team that very well may cost them a spot in the playoffs. If the Cowboys win this game and also against Baylor in the Big 12 Championship as I suspect they will, they very well may find themselves in 5th spot in the playoff rankings. That would be a travesty in my opinion if it were to come to fruition as they would be a serious challenge even for Georgia. They will likely need Alabama or Ohio St to lose another game in order to get in.
As for the Sooners, they have been merely average all season. They won 5 games by one score game or less including the Texas game they really should have lost. They were also beaten down badly by Baylor two weeks ago, so their 10-1 record is misleading. Yet the illusion persists that the Sooners are an elite team and should be a problem for Oklahoma St. I would strongly disagree with that sentiment.
I would have put this line above 14 points in favour of the Cowboys at home. A 34-13 final score sounds about right. Oklahoma St Cowboys should soundly defeat their bitter cross state rivals and put themselves in position for a big finish to the season. If you can get long odds on this team winning the National Championship, I would say a small wager would be reasonable.
I had another massive week in NCAAF going 20-9 last week including 3-0 on my premium picks which are 12-3 now for the season as of writing, including the Miss St loss Thursday night. I am now 119-73 (62.0%), +36.2 units. Make sure to check my Daily Picks page regularly to get the rest of my picks for the weekend including NFL selections for Sunday.
