NBA: Pacers (+2.5) @ Wizards $$

No way should Washington be favourites in this matchup. My power Rankings still have the current version of the Wizards as the worst team in the NBA. The debut of Kristaps Porzingis may help that ranking a little, but this is a team that has given up on this season. Wizard management gutted their team at the trade deadline and the best player Bradly Beal is out for the season. It is clear to me that winning is not the primary concern for the Wizards at the moment. How can I not bet against them?

The Pacers aren’t very good either, but you can at least say they are trying. Indiana is now set up with a nice core of young talent after fleecing the Kings in the Tyrese Haliburton trade. Perhaps the Pacer’s season is done, but they could take a leap forward next year. Meanwhile, this is a game they should win, so I’ll take them as short underdogs for a double play.

NBA: Clippers (-4.5) Vs Knicks $

The Knicks coaching staff has lost this team. The Knicks are officially in the tank and have given up on the season. Every year there are at least a couple of teams that reach this point in the last quarter of the season. They aren’t going to repeat their playoff appearance from last season and they have now dropped seven straight games. Julius Randle has been disappointing, to say the least after signing his big contract. Maybe they can use him to lure Zion Williamson away from the Pelicans in the off-season which would be ironic, to say the least after he left New Orleans just a few years ago.

Meanwhile, the Clippers are still finding ways to win. They certainly are not the most talented team in the west with their two best players in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George out. But what this team lacks in talent the make up for in grit and good coaching with ty Lue. They absolutely owned the Lakers this season which is a big reason why they are still favoured to claim a playoff spot. With five consecutive wins under their belts, they shouldn’t have too much trouble with the Knicks today.

NBA: Cavaliers (-4) Vs Raptors $

This play is mostly about Toronto. I’ve been saying for a while the Raptors will only go as far as their starting five will take them this season. The key for them is staying healthy. OG Anunoby is out for a couple of weeks while Fred VanVleet is listed as questionable for this matchup.

Cleveland also presents a potential problem for Toronto who does not play a true center. It is an interesting matchup of two teams fighting for the 6th spot and the final guaranteed playoff spot. I am waiting for VanVleet to show he is 100% before I am willing to back the Raptors again.
