NBA: Heat (-2.5) @ Nets $
Kevin Durant makes his long-awaited return to the court after being sidelined for 6 weeks with a knee injury. It was a disastrous stretch of games for the Nets going just 5-16 and falling all the way down to 8th place in the Eastern Conference standings. Brooklyn is now 4.5 games behind Boston for the final guaranteed playoff spot and now look destined for the play-in tournament.
In case you have forgotten, they also traded their All-Star guard James Harden for an emotionally injured Ben Simmons who continues to watch from the bench. No new news from the Governor’s office so Kyrie is sitting out again tonight. The Nets are a shit show and still have the tendency to take nights off. Having Durant returning tonight should help, but I do not expect much from him his first game back and will likely be on a minutes restriction.
The Heat suffered a tough last-second loss in Milwaukee last night. But Miami is now in full playoff mode looking strong and focused. I expect them to rebound from last night with a strong performance picking up this win tonight.
NBA: Bulls (Pick) @ Hawks $
I like picking games where the line is not a factor while not having to think about any point spreads. It should be fairly obvious who the better team is in this matchup as the Bulls have a much better record and 10 more wins than the Hawks.
If this game is close in the final minutes who would you rather have with the ball other than DeMar DeRozan? He has been Mr. Clutch all season with the ability to create, and hit, his own shot anytime he needs to. Trae Young is decent at this as well but he is also listed as questionable for this matchup. I’ll take the Bulls all day in this spot.
