NBA: Pistons (+4) Vs Knicks $
The Pistons do not seem able to win games when they are listed as favourites but are unbeatable as underdogs against the spread. I have these teams currently rated very close to each other so there should be value betting the home side as underdogs. I just do not have faith in the Knicks, particularly as road favourites. They often struggle to score while playing down to their opponent’s level. While the Pistons are showing much improvement as the season progresses.
Julius Randle is listed as questionable tonight with a quad injury. Jerami Grant is out for the Pistons tonight which is a notable absence as the team’s top scorer. This is really a nothing game for both teams, but it should be obvious they are both moving in opposite directions. Situations such as this are often quite profitable.
NBA: Mavericks (+1) Vs Jazz $
This is a key matchup in Dallas tonight with two teams that could face each other in the first round of the playoffs.
Utah has now lost three consecutive games on their current road trip. The Jazz have been moving sideways for a least a couple of months now playing (.500) ball. With this current losing streak, they are now headed in the wrong direction as the playoffs approach.
The opposite can be said about the Mavericks who are 28-11 in 2022. Better yet, the Mavericks are 12-4 since the acquisition of Spencer Dinwiddie who has proven to be a major shot in the arm for the team. His presence gives Dallas a legitimate second-scoring option even with Luka Doncic on the bench. Their team defence is second in the NBA behind only Boston.
Surely the wrong team is favoured in this matchup. Spoiler alert: If these two do face off in the first round of the playoffs, I will be picking Dallas to win that series easily.
