NBA: Hornets (+2) Vs Suns $$
The Hornets may be the most under rated team in the NBA right now. They have a well balanced team with talented starters and a deep bench. I like this team to move up the standings in the second half of the season and into one of the top 6 seedings. They are also an impressive 22-14 ATS so far this season.
Charlotte faces the Suns tonight who are once again a solid second place team in the west. The Suns are struggling right now however losing 3 of their last four games. This has been largely due to the absences of several big men including Ayton, Crowder, and McGee. Those are a lot of big minutes to make up at the 4 & 5 spots that are not easily replaced.
Winning a road game in Charlotte is a tough task for any team. Being short handed and having to lay points on top is too much to ask even for the Suns. It seems to me the wrong team is favoured in this matchup.
NBA: Kings (+3.5) Vs Heat $
The Heat are the most recent team to be hit by mass quarantines. Miami will be hard pressed to find 8 warm bodies for this matchup. Lowry, Herro and Butler will be carrying a portion of the minutes tonight, but the the rest of the minutes will be rookies and third stringers. The Heat have won 5 games in a row despite the personal loses which is the primary reason they are still favoured in this game.
I do not like betting on the Kings as they always seem to disappoint me when I do. On paper this should be a good team, but for some unknown reason they are not. Perhaps if they could learn to play just a little bit of defence, they could even make the playoffs. I will give the Kings one more shot tonight in what should be a favourable matchup for them.
