NBA: Bulls (-2) @ Wizards $

Where we you when DeMar hit the “New Years Eve Heave”? DeRozan hit one of the biggest shots of his career last night against the Pacers, a one legged 3 point buzzer beater for the win.

Seriously, DeRozan is playing the best ball of his career and the Bulls are Red Hot right now even with Lonzo Ball out of the line up. Nikola Vucevic is playing big on the glass while Zach LaVine is still a stud, but now he doesn’t have to do everything himself with the talent all around him. The team has won 6 in a row and haven’t lost since Dec 11th after several games were postponed do to a short lineup from quarantines.

But this pick is also about the Wizards who are in trouble tonight with a shortened bench. They do have 4 of 5 starters available for this matchup, but their bench is a complete disaster with 7 players currently in quarantine. With Dinwiddie out along with both of his backups, I’m not actually sure who is going to play PG for the Wizards tonight.

Essentially we are being asked to lay just 2 points here on the hottest team in the league against an inferior team with a depleted bench. I’ll take that bet.

NBA: Nets (-12) Vs Clippers $

The Clippers lost and failed to cover last night in Toronto after leading most of the game. The current version of this team is not very good and they better hope to get healthy soon or this season is going to slip away from them. Tonight they face a much tougher opponent in the Brooklyn Nets so it could be long night.

The Nets should win this game easily but the large point spread could be an issue. Harden and Durant have a tendency of blowing teams out early then letting the foot off the gas late. It may be up to the Nets bench to preserve this cover but they should get the job done tonight against a depleted Clippers team.

It has been a red hot 15-5 start for my NBA picks this season. Be sure to check back to my Daily Picks page regularly for all my NBA/NFL picks posted every day for free.
