NBA: Spurs (-3) @ Wizards $$
Kristaps Porzingis is still unable to make his Wizards debut and is listed as out with a knee injury. I have problems seeing how this current version of the Wizards can even be competitive down the stretch. Management has completely blown up this team as they are already looking at next season. I see this team making a conscientious push towards the bottom of the standings with hopes of getting a lottery pick for next season.
The Spurs are at least still trying to make the postseason this year. It still isn’t out of the question that they could at least make the play-in as they are only 1.5 games behind Portland right now for 10th. Dejounte Murray continues to lead the Spurs as he continues improving over the season. The Spurs should have enough talent and hope left to take care of the Wizards tonight.
NBA: Raptors (-2.5) @ Hornets $
On paper these two two teams look closely matched. The truth is they each seem on diverging paths.
The Raptors seem to do all the small things right, which is a credit to Nick Nurse and team management. It is now looking like the Raptor rebuild only took a single year to work through. They are now looking once again like a solid playoff team after just a single season away.
The Hornets have so much talent on this team but still struggle to find results. They are spiralling down in a recent 1-9 streak and are looking in danger of missing the NBA playoffs once again. Something is still missing with team and it is difficult to pin-point, perhaps it is the coaching staff. Regardless I cannot back the Hornets considering their recent form.
NBA: Thunder (+7.5) @ Pacers $
Despite their dismal record, the Thunder are still an ATS juggernaught sporting a 35-20 (63.6%). I like the the Thunder as road dogs and this looks like another good opportunity to back them. Josh Giddey continues making big strides and is emerging as a leader on this team. While Shai Gigleous-Alexander looks ready to return from an ankle sprian after a week long break.
I’m not sure what to make of the Pacers right now. They had that break trade just before the deadline but it remains to be seen if this team will better as a result. They are still struggling with lots of injuries and may struggle finding any chemistry with such a large turnover recently. Laying a big line on the Pacers right now may be ask.
