Free NBA Picks – April 5th, 2022

NBA Playoffs

The Pelicans lost on Sunday night dropping my NBA best bets to 27-13 (67.5%) on the season. There are 12 games on the schedule for tonight several of which offer huge points on weaker teams. Some of the picks I offer tonight look ugly, but you have to take the value where you can find it.

I have a best bet for tonight on one of the late games set for release one hour prior to tip-off. Check back to my Daily Picks page for updates or sign up for my Newsletter to get all my best bets delivered directly to your inbox.

NBA: Magic (+8.5) Vs Cavaliers $

The Cavaliers started the season by surprising much of the NBA with their young and talented team. More recently the team has begun struggling to keep up their previous pace. Now with bothof their big men out of the lineup, they have only 2 wins in their last 8 games. They face they prospect now of hosting the Hawks in the play-in and possibly even missing the playoffs altogether.

The absence of Evan Mobley and Jarret Allen have really hurt the Cavaliers. If they the cannot get both of them back in the lineup soon, their season may come to an abrupt end. It has been an encouraging season for Cleveland, but I fear they will be soon looking towards next year to reach the next level.

The Magic are losers of six consecutive games, but this line is too big for me to pass on. Considering the recent play and injuries of their opponent tonight, they should not be such big underdogs.

NBA: Pacers (+11.5) Vs 76ers $

The Pacers have not been good recently losing seven straight games. To compensate for that they are getting a big number playing at home tonight against the Sixers.

But let’s be real about the Philadelphia 76ers. The are not winning an NBA championship this season. Frankly I’d be surprised if they even make it out tof the first round. The only team they have a good chance of beating is Chicago if the cards fall right for them. But I think Boston, Milwaukee and Toronto would all beat them right now. James Harden has not been a good fit in Philadelphia (but really james does not seem to fit in anywhere he goes).

Needless to say the Sixers are not a team that should be laying double digits on the road right now, even against a team on a seven game losing streak. I’ll take the points hope for the best.
