MLB: White Sox Lopez (+132) @ Athletics Manaea $

Reynaldo Lopez has been a welcome addition to the White Sox starting rotation. As Dallas Keuchel continues to struggle, Lopez is possibly going to find himself getting a start or two in the postseason. His numbers are good enough for me to back him in this matchup.

Sean Manaea’s numbers have been slowly but steadily dropping over the course of the season. The A’s started the season on fire, but have been treading water for several weeks. They now find themselves 3 games out of the wild card game but also looking up at both SEA and TOR. The season is starting to slip away for this A’s team and I am not optimistic about their chances.

I see no reason why the A’s should be such big favourites in this matchup.

MLB: Indians Quantrill (-134) Vs Twins Dobnak $

Twins shut out the Indians last night 3-0 with a stellar performance by Joe Ryan. Despite this, the Twin’s rotation is still a disaster. Relying on raw rookies to give you near-perfect performances is not a viable long-turn strategy. Today they send out Randy Dobnak with his 7.64 ERA against the Indians. Just because MIN got lucky yesterday, does not mean they become a good play in the same situation today. This team is still one of the worst in MLB and I will play against them again.

Cal Quantrill gave up 3 HRs in his last start to BOS, but overall his numbers are good and actually improving despite his last performance. He has not been getting much run support from his team otherwise his team record would be better than it is. Regardless, I certainly like him in this matchup against the Twins and Dobnak.
