MLB: Indians McKenzie (-128) Vs Twins Ryan $

Triston McKenzie has really turned his season around and has been pitching great in his last 5 starts. He has looked like a much better pitcher in the second half since returning from AAA after struggling with control early in the season. I am willing to back him today as the Indians face a tanking Twins team.

The Twins starting rotation is just a disaster as they throw out yet another new pitcher tonight in rookie Joe Ryan. Joe makes his second career MLB appearance after managing 5 innings and 3 ER in his debut. It looks like he may have potential, but as with all raw rookies, they are prone to get blown up on occasion. The Twins haven’t been good all season and I see no reason to start backing them now, despite their current three-game win streak.

This line seems far too low to me and I will take the more proven pitcher over the rookie, and the better team at home at the short price for a double play.

MLB: Rays McCanahan (-105) @ Red Sox Eovaldi $

Same pick here as yesterday as the Rays continue to dominate everyone. In fact, I like this match even better than last night’s game that TB won 12-7 as Shane McClanahan has been pitching exceptionally well lately.

The Red Sox are fading fast and are now only 2 games ahead of the surging Blue Jays for the last wild card spot. They will be lucky to make the playoffs at this pace. Eovaldi has been pitching OK, but he still struggles giving up the long ball. That could be trouble for him tonight as he faces the best hitting team in MLB.

The Rays have the favourable pitching matchup, they have a far superior hitting lineup, and their bullpen is better than the Red Sox. To me, this line is simply wrong and I will put down another big bet on them tonight.
