MLB: Athletics Blackburn (+160) @ Blue Jays Berrios $

This line is inflated by the recent performance of Jays starter Jose Berrios who has been pitching great since coming over from the Twins. His last start he went 7 innings with 6 hits, 0 runs, and 11 Ks. Despite his dominant performances, the Jays managed to win only 2 of his 6 starts with the team thus far. The Team had hopes that Jose’s presence in this rotation would propel them into a wild card spot, but sadly the team has faltered since then.

The Jay’s run support has dropped of significantly from their mid-season form. This is still a team that just finds ways to lose games when they should really be better than their record. The A’s in contrast, do the opposite and find ways to win games that the often should lose.

I do not like backing teams like TOR, particularly when they are big favourites like today. I’ll take my chances with the A’s and Blackburn today as the big dogs.

MLB: Rays Archer (-210) Vs Twins Albers $

Tampa is still the best team in MLB and today they face a Twins team that is essentially waiving the white flag for the season. The Twins starting rotation is a disaster and today they throw out 35 year old journeyman Andrew Albers from my native Saskatchewan who really is just a plug in a leaky sink. The Twins will likely continue their slide down the standings as the season wraps up.

Another big line here, but the Rays should win this matchup well north of 70% of the time.
