MLB: Athletics Montas (-160) @ Royals Kower $

Frankie Montas has been a stud pitcher for the A’s most of the season and willing to ride him again in this matchup. It is a huge pitching miss match against Jackson Kower who has been absolutely horrible so far early in his career.

I don’t expect Kower to get more than a few innings and is certain to give up some runs. The bad news for the Royals is their bullpen is likely the worst in MLB and they are likely to continue giving up runs in relief. Their only hope to win today against Montas is to keep it a low scoring game and I just don’t see them being able to do that.

MLB: Red Sox Eovaldi (-134) @ Mariners Anderson $

Red Sox are in a major battle right now and tied with the Yankees for the last wild card birth and a full game back of the surging Blue Jays. Despite their struggles in the second half of the season, they should be fully focused on the task at hand now but I am not sure I can say the same for the Mariners at this point. The Mariners have overachieved most of the season but now are certainly out of the playoff race and their motivation may be affected a s result.

Nathan Eovaldi has been solid as well so I definitely think the Red Sox should be favoured in this matchup.
