Today’s American League Best Bets
July’s Best Bets: 31-20, +8.67 Units
It’s been a tough losing week with two more strikes posted last night in American League action. Luckily I was red hot to start the month and had some good units built up to survive a losing streak.
The Red Sox disappointed the boisterous crowd at Fenway and their chants of “Papi, Papi, Papi”. The little league version of the Red Sox returned to their recent form failing to do the little things right, again, losing 8-3. Meanwhile, the Angels bucked their recent trend by shutting out KC 6-0.
MLB: Padres (Darvish) [-136] @ Tigers (Skubal) $
Tarik Skubal is the Tiger’s best and most reliable starting pitcher. Yet he still rates lower than Padre’s opposing starter today, Yu Darvish. The Tigers cannot get a favourable matchup even with their best pitcher on the mound at home.
The Tiger’s batting lineup is easily the worst in the American and all of MLB, it isn’t even really close. The team exploded for 12 runs on Monday, but the result is an outlier from their recent form. I do not expect much production from Detroit today even at home. The total of just (7) for the game reflects that opinion as well. Three runs for the Padres today could easily be enough to win the game and I am confident the Padres can manage that number.
American League: Orioles (Wells) [+100] Vs Rays (Rasmussen) $
The Orioles rallied for a 5-3 comeback win over the Rays last night beating the American League All-Star starting pitcher, Shane McClanahan. The Orioles managed 2 hits and hits and 2 runs off McClanahan but exploded with 3 runs in the 8th to complete the comeback. It was an inspiring win for the Orioles who continue to offer value to the betting public.
Tyler Wells takes the mound today for Baltimore who has been consistently good all season. He did get roughed up in his last outing by the Yankees, but they tend to do that to a lot of pitchers. I’m looking for the Orioles to complete this home sweep of the Rays as they continue their incredible mid-season run of quality play.
