I had a bad night on Wednesday dropping both of my NBA Playoffs picks while watching my crypto portfolio crater. It is important to step away sometimes to take a breath and regroup, refocus, and stay the course. My NBA Playoffs picks are still profitable at 17-13 (56.6%).
NBA Playoffs: Celtics (+1.5) @ Bucks $
The Celtics had a massive collapse in game 5 giving up a 14-point lead with just 10 minutes left. I was feeling good about my (-5.5) pick at that point and was already thinking about the Celtics and the Heat in the conference finals. It seems several of the Celtics players were also thinking the same thing and lost focus. Milwaukee did not so much win that game as Boston gave it away.
But let’s clear every bounce, break, and call in that game seemed to go in Milwaukee’s favour. The Bucks shot better from deep, they got most of the bounces on the offensive glass, they even save a basket on the last second finger rolled that just missed the first half buzzer. The Bucks also benefited from the absence of Robert Williams. If Time Lord plays that came, the Celtics win easily. He is listed as questionable for tonight but I expect him to play in an elimination game.
The Celtics are the better team here without a doubt. Can they over come psychologically from the collapse in the last game? I think they will. The biggest concern is of course Giannis, who once again proved himself to be the NBA’s premium clutch player. If the Celtics hold him to 35 points, the series should come back to Boston on Sunday.
